Anne Bullen

Best known as an illustrator rather than an author, although she did write one pony novel (along with Rosamunde Oldfield) and two non-fiction equine works, and all three were also illustrated by her. Over the years Ms. Bullen was to illustrate many of the classic pony books of the 20th century including Wish for a Pony, A Pony for Jean and many of the Pullein-Thompson sisters' novels.

As well as illustrating books, Ms. Bullen also ran a successful stud, breeding show ponies. This perhaps accounts for the characteristic very 'breedy' look of the ponies in her art.

I cannot find any information about her co-author Rosamunde Oldfield, so I assume that the collaboration with Anne Bullen was her only foray into writing.
